Believe In Me ⢠3

Believe In Me • 3
The next morning; June 12th 2010 ___________________ Lilly was sitting outside on her porch swing reading a book when she noticed a very large, orange moving van pulling into the drive-way next door. Her previous neighbors had moved out a few months ago and she thought that the realtors were having troubles trying to sell the old house, considering the roof shingles were falling off almost hitting innocent by-standers as they walked by and most of the windows were cracked. The house could use a good paint job too. But she guessed that the new neighbors moving in were either a rich couple who thought they could turn an ugly house into a beautiful one, or a desperate couple who would be willing to buy any cheap house they could get. She watched closely, her chocolate brown eyes concealed by a pair of dark sunglasses, as an old Jeep pulled in behind the moving truck. A man and a woman stepped out of the front seats, while a young girl, about 4 years old, jumped out of the backs! eat and skipped up to the front door of the house excitedly. 'She's beautiful,' Lilly thought to herself, exaimining the hyper child who bouncing around at her mother's feet, begging her to open the front door to their new home. She had bright red hair and dimples indented into her rosey cheeks whenever she smiled. She tripped over her chubby legs a few times as she darted up the stairs behind her father, who was currently having trouble getting the key into the lock as he balanced a box in his arms ...

WhirlyBall comes to Maple Grove

WhirlyBall comes to Maple Grove
"WhirlyBall" comes to Maple Grove It's a sport that will make you scratch your head at first. "Extreme bumper cars is what I would call it," said Beth Leith. Combine bumper cars with a bit of lacrosse and basketball and there you have WhirlyBall. "On a scale of 1--10, it's about an 11, everyone had a really great time," said Beth Leith, who played the game when she accompanied a Habitat for Humanity Youth Group on a trip to Chicago. "I took a lot of pictures and looking back through those, there's smiles on everybody's face. It's a competitive sport, but really it's just fun." Little did she know a few years after the trip, her husband -- council member Phil Leith -- would be voting to bring the sport to Maple Grove. "It's exciting," said Phil Leith. "It's new to Maple Grove and new to state of Minnesota and brings redevelopment to that area." Monday night the Maple Grove City Council approved the site plan for WhirlyBall to go into the Mann Theatre building. The space will ! include a laser tag area, a sports bar, and two whirlyball arenas. Owner Nick Lambrecht thinks the sport will draw people in. "It's something that the first time you hear about it you scratch your head and furrow your brow and kinda wonder and it sounds strange. That's a common reaction, but another reaction is people have an absolute blast when they play it," said Lambrecht. The facility will also have four meeting rooms and offer corporate packages for businesses to work on team building ...
